Service description
The Remote Climate Control feature allows you to start and stop your vehicle as well as remotely pre-condition the vehicle's interior climate conveniently through your smartphone. You can set the temperature of the passenger compartment before departure, and also warm up the engine, especially during the winter.
Remote climate control stop can stop the remotely-started climate control operation.
The following items are available:
Starting the climate control from your mobile app

Select "ADJUST" from the HOME screen.

Set the temperature by adjusting the temperature setting ring.

Select "SET CLIMATE".
-
Confirm the warning on your display, then select "IT IS SAFE".

Enter your security PIN*.
* When the security PIN is entered, the engine will start up when it is ready and the climate control will operate after the system has warmed up.
Warning

Do not use the Remote Climate Control if children, people in need of care, pets, etc., are in the vehicle. Even if Remote Climate Control is used, the cabin may become too hot or cold if the system stops automatically or due to some other reasons. The cabin temperature may rise quickly in sunshine, which poses a risk of heat stroke and dehydration. In cold weather, on the other hand, the cabin temperature may drop quickly. Both could lead to death in the worst case. In addition, children can activate switches and controls, resulting in injury or fatal accidents.

Carbon monoxide gas is toxic and can rapidly accumulate in closed and partly enclosed areas. Breathing it can cause unconsciousness and even kill you. Never use this feature when the vehicle is parked in a garage or other areas with limited ventilation.

When using the Remote Climate Control, do not use a car cover.

Air conditioning performance may deteriorate under the following conditions:

In extremely hot weather

In hot sunshine
-
In extremely cold weather

The remote climate control turns off automatically after approximately 10 minutes.

The remote climate control can be operated up to 2 times consecutively. Please start the engine manually to reset.

Use the remote climate control according to the state or local regulations regarding idling vehicles.

Please note that all Safeguard and Remote services are subject to cellular network availability. When the cellular network coverage is poor, remote climate control may not function properly.

The engine cannot be started remotely under the following conditions:
-
When a door or a back door is opened.
-
When the vehicle is moving (engine is already started).
-
When the hood is opened.
-
When the ignition switch or power mode is set to ON.
-
When the vehicle has already started remotely twice consecutively.

The remotely started engine will shut down under the following conditions:
-
When a door or a back door is opened.
-
When the engine switch is pressed.
-
When the shift lever is operated.
-
When the pedal is depressed.
-
When the vehicle is in motion.
-
When the hood is opened.
-

Climate control cannot be started remotely when the engine cannot be started.
-
A temperature unit is automatically selected and displayed in accordance with your device's settings.

When the engine cannot be started remotely, you can start the engine from the vehicle manually.

You cannot start only the engine remotely.

] again to switch the function to climate control from the windshield and window defroster.

Shutting down the climate control from your mobile app

Select "ADJUST" from the HOME screen.

Select "Engine Off".

Enter your security PIN*.
* When the security PIN is entered, the engine will stop and the climate control will stop its operation immediately.
